We view bodywork, energy work and yoga as practices that help human beings return to their natural state of
wellness by effecting all aspects of one's being: physical, emotional and spiritual. Because of this belief, we work in a deeply
meditative manner with the intention of accessing the multi-dimensional layers of each person we work with.
On the physical level, these practices work by increasing circulation and releasing tension, stress
and trauma from the muscular and fascial systems.
On the mental/ emotional front,
we are affected in multiple ways. First, we feel soothed by the attention of a compassionate and present human being.
Second, as the body releases physical stress and trauma, cellular memories/emotions are released. For instance, take
a person who has a habit of overeating when stressed. Because this person is eating instead feeling their stress, the
feelings become stuck in the cells in and around the digestive system. When the physical stress in the belly is released-
either through a stretch in yoga or through touch in bodywork or energywork, the emotions that had become stuck in the cells
are released as well.
As the body and mind come back into
balance, the spirit is affected as well: there is a sense of "coming home" to
the true self.
