PRIVATE YOGA INSTRUCTION with Johanna
WHO NEEDS PRIVATE YOGA INSTRUCTION?
Private lessons are great for all levels of students from the total novice to the student who has an advanced practice.
For new students, private yoga instruction offers a safe and comfortable environment (either your home or my studio) with
personal guidance to assure that you learn how to safely enter and exit each posture. It gives you the base to build your
practice on so that if you like you can go to a group lesson later on with confidence and safety.
For students who have practiced yoga before or even those with advanced practice, private instruction is like having a
personal yoga trainer. You have someone present to motivate you to push yourself and help you relax more deeply. You will
also gain a deeper understanding of your own body the postures through lots of adjustments if they are desired.

WHAT WILL MY LESSON INCLUDE?
We will create a lesson tailored to your needs after discussing what you want to achieve through the practice. Sessions may
be slow and focused on stretching/ opening, or faster, flowing, strengthening, cardio-invigorating, or a combination of the
two. We may include pranayama (breathing practices), meditation, and/or yoga philosophy. My style is generally to incorporate
yogic philosophy and suggestions on how to connect the practice of yoga to your life.
The practice will end with a long "pariyankasana" or "laying in the lap of mother earth"--a relaxation
posture, also known as savasana. I often assist the relaxation process with the use of essential oils, light touch and crystal
or tibetan singing bowls. A great way to ease into a massage session!
